This is the FIRST of a 2 MEETING SERIES to achieve credits for your LEVEL I CLINIC for this year Confirming.. attendance to these 2 meeting will receive IHSA level 1 credits!!

We will meet SIX times in the preseason.  This are ALL the Meeting dates for this season:
10/1; 10/7; 10/15; 10/21; 10/29 and 11/4 , all beginning at 7pm.

The Clinic dates will be Wednesday October 1st and Tuesday October 7th.  You must attend BOTH to receive a Clinic Credit.
The two (2) Clinic dates and two (2) additional in-person dates will be held at McHenry HS in the Warrior Room. (TOP floor at North end... same as last few years)

*  Meeting on 10/15 will be ZOOM (Zoom link will be provided)
*  Meeting  on 10/21 will be in person at McHenry HS
*  Meeting on 10/29 will be ZOOM (Zoom link will be provided)
*  FINAL MEETING on 11/4 will be IN PERSON at McHenry HS
At the November 4th meeting, we will cover part 1 test. 

We again will host 
* 2 Socials after 2 of our preseason meetings one on October 1st and one the LAST MEETING on November 11th; 
* 2 in-season socials.... These will be formally announced.
* Banquet the Wednesday March 18th
 (Wed night after Boys State Finals)
* Level 1 and Level 11 clinic in June 2026 (usually the second Monday). 

Dues again will be $45 for the year AND will cover Clinic costs.  See Pat to discuss payment

WE WILL ALSO HAND OUT A new FOX 40 FVOA Whistle to all that attend the IN-PERSON MEETINGS... (one whistle for the year!)

A plug on the FVOA Mentorship Program

Board Member Chris Gilbert leads the MENTORSHIP program.

If you would be interested, he will attempt to pair you up with a veteran official to help.   Mentorship is something our association offers at no cost to the participants.

The FVOA Board of Directors recently held a meeting to discuss an agenda of items of interest.

 

1. One of our original Directors resigned and per our By-Laws, the Board made an appointment to fill this vacancy.  Chris Gilbert was appointed to fill Vacancy.

Week 2 - Wednesday, October 9th In-Person (joint meeting with NOA/social night): Guest Speaker Mark Siekierski , 2/3 person floor coverage & mechanics covered on the court. Social will follow.
Week 3 - Tuesday, October 15th In-Person: Guest Speaker Mike Rueffer
Week 4 - Wednesday, October 23rd  Zoom: IHSA Part 1 Exam Review
Week 5 - Tuesday, October 29th Zoom: Speaker TBD
Week 6 - Wednesday, November 6th  In-Person: Speaker TBD Social will follow.

 

In person meeting AGAIN will be held at the Warrior Room at McHenry (west) H.S.  Steve Bellmore is able to get this room for us a No Charge.

Joel and Rich are confirming the Clinicians to speak and we will advise on later communications.

6. Officials Conference on July 12th & 13th

Pat Hudgens, Bill Orris, Chris Gilbert, Dave Lopshire & Chuck Gonzalez attended the IHSA Officials Conference (Josh Perry was spotted also.  Tom Cordogan was also there).  Pat Hudgens was the FVOA Official Delegate to the Conference. Bill Orris was a speaker on Flag Football. Dave Lopshire & Chuck Gonzalez spoke at the Basketball Clinic.  The FVOA will seek Funds from the IHSA for a new computer for Meeting Presentations.
